Blogging Dippers Go To The Polls

March 5, 2007

Attention all Blogging Dippers!

As a result of the recent events, the JF of From the Mind of a Netjin has kindly created the Blogging Dippers Voting System (BDVS) to be used for voting on resolutions and moderators. Note that the BDVS is being held on a neutral(er) server.

There is voting taking place right now on 6 resolutions. All 97 Blogging Dippers are eligible to vote and I encourage them to do so. Voting shall take place over 96 hours starting on Tuesday, March 6th, 12:00 AM New Brunswick Time.

The six resolutions current under consideration for voting, with an option to add more are (and this is a lesson for me not to think out loud by writing) are:

1. That the Blogging Dippers, in regards to Moderation.
A. Keep the Status Quo
B. Add Two Moderators and retain the current moderator
C. Elect Three Moderators; Blank Slate

2. That the Blogging Dippers establish a Charter which shall contain general operating rules for Blogging Dippers, including rules for membership, election of moderators, and a tolerance policy.
A. Yes
B. No

3. That the Blogging Dippers do not stand by the comments of Robert McClelland and shall encourage him to write a public apology.
A. Yes
B. No

4. That the Blogging Dippers censure Jason Cherniak in his attempt to destroy the Blogging Dippers for the gain of the blogroll that he is a moderator of.
A. Yes
B. No

5. That the Blogging Dippers shall not support the establishment of a party-controlled blogroll.
A. Yes
B. No

6. That the Blogging Dippers contact the President of the NDP and educate her about the realities of the blogging world.
A. Yes
B. No

Proposed Amendment to #6: That the Blogging Dippers shall contact the NDP President to inform her what our organization is about and to begin a dialog.
A. Yes
B. No

The BDVS has a commenting system which allows Blogging Dippers to discuss the merits of each resolution, and there is a lot of talk happening within.

I don’t think I have to talk to political junkies about the importance of voting.

And how do you plan to do this since Robert set up Blogging Dippers and controls the template.

Robert has said he’s willing to cooperate, but if for some odd insane reason he doesn’t want to, there are ways to easily mirror the blogroll, it is after all, more or less, just a list of RSS feeds (which is easily reproduced) and a domain name (another one can easily be registered)

As such, we are completely free to do as we wish.

Actually, here’s a quote from him, regarding stepping down from moderation:
“Don’t worry about that. I will continue to provide the webspace and pay for the domain name even if option 3 is chosen and I either decide not to run for one of the 3 admin positions or I do and I’m not elected. My intent from the beginning was always to turn the site into a democratically run organization rather than a dictatorial one like the Blogging Whories and Libfloggers.”

Lol. It’s a good thing that this is what he always intended!

Jason, don’t you have briefs to do or something? You should really do something about your obsessive disorder as it is becoming well – obsessive.
