The Canadian Blog Awards are back for 2009.

Nominations will begin Oct 25 and will last until November 21. Round 1 Voting begins Nov 29 and goes to Dec 5, Round 2 Voting begins Dec 6 to Dec 12.

I’m also pleased to announce that the CBA will be using a ranked preferential poll for this year, hosted by DemoChoice.

Yeah, I think they’ll cut down a lot of problems we’ve had with nominations in the past.

Maybe you could be a real dipper and recognize feminism as something to be respected and rewarded instead of crapping on them, today I am not proud to have you under the same banner as me, I respect women and equality and expect much more from someone who marchs under the NDP banner, you should be ashamed.

I respect that you do not agree with our removing of all the political categories (like feminist, progressive, conservative, and non-partisan) except for best political blog.

However, we know the over-the-top fights between some political bloggers over the past 2 years, in which trolling, subverting the nominations process, and negative campaigns have occurred, has been counter to the spirit of the CBAs, in which the Canadian blogosphere comes together and has a friendly competition, and has thus reduced the fun factor of the awards for both participants and volunteers.

Since previous attempts of coming up with a balance fair to all sides of the political spectrum have failed, we have decided that the only fair action is the removal of most of the political categories themselves.
