This Is Why Dion Appointed Beatty

January 24, 2008

I see that Conservatives and New Democrats are having a field day in regards to connecting Elizabeth May’s comments on Afghanistan to the Liberal Party and Dion.

They are taking advantage of a [relatively] weak electoral link between the Liberals and the Greens, conflating the Greens policies and statements that that of the Liberals.

And it is not the first time, either.

Now, we all know that Orchard holds some views that don’t match up with the mainstream of the Liberal Party. If the Conservatives and NDP can make up this much hay with a comment from the Greens for the Liberals, could you imagine what they could do if Orchard was a Liberal Candidate or worse, MP?

Yeah, I think Dion decided to take the bullet while avoiding the cannon shot, there.

    Your argument is total b.s.

Dion could have appointed earlier instead of leading his strongest supporter astray, then lying about.

It does not pass the smell test and it proves that the person Quebecers called a RAT for selling out his own people is still a RAT, selling out his strongest leadership supporter

That’s not the kind of person I want running my country — and I am a Liberal!

I didn’t vote for Paul Martin last time, and pretty much for the same reasons I won’t vote for Dion.

    New leadership race, please!

I agree, it would have been fairer of Dion to have told Orchard that he was going to appoint somebody in that riding.

But he didn’t, and he had to get rid of Orchard somehow…
