Bilingualism Committee

December 3, 2007

It seems that Harper is going to name Bernard Lord as a head of a committee investigating official bilingualism.

Apparently, this committee is supposed to provide suggestions on how to improve bilingualism in Canada, as well as being a reaction to a report by the official languages commissioner that stated that the Conservative government was undermining the Official Languages Act.

So let’s see: Harper is appointing a bilingual man from a bilingual province to improve bilingualism in Canada as a reaction to being accused of undermining bilingualism. Yeah, Harper is totally trying to shore up some votes in Quebec.
