Conservatives, NDP, Follow Dion’s Example

April 12, 2007

Note: This post is a joke. Probably a bad one.

After Dion’s shining example regarding inter-partisan cooperation with the Greens, the leaders of the Conservatives and the NDP have decided to follow his footsteps.

The Conservatives have struck a bargain with the much smaller Christian Heritage Party.  “The alliance with the Christian Heritage Party will shore up small-c-conservative votes against progressives,” stated Conservative Leader Stephen Harper, “as well, it will be a common front against those that wish to destroy the moral fabric of our society.”

The Conservatives will not be running a candidate in Chilliwack—Fraser Canyon, where the Christian Heritage Leader will be running next election. Likewise, the Christian Heritage Party will not run a candidate against Harper.

The NDP, on the other hand, is trying to one-up everybody else by making agreement with two parties: the Communist Party of Canada and the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist). The details still have to be worked out, but Layton is quoted as saying, “for the first time ever, there shall be a common front for those that want to defend the middle and working classes.”

Seriously: Can you see now why I’m having a hard time grasping why Dion would agree to such an alliance with the Greens? ‘Cause it seems to be the same thing as the joke examples above.

News flash, Layton just teamed up with Ralph Nador from the States. We’re starting a continential alliance across the border once the Harper govt follows on the inroads gained by the libs for deep continential intergration. Keep it under raps until the election.

Dion’s leadership scores were abyssmal on the last opinion polls. He scored less than half Harper’s numbers on everything, including the environment. He needed to shore up credibility.

May is endorsing him as PM in exchange for this deal.

He just sold a riding in exchange for environmental credibility. I wonder how the Liberals in Central Nova feel about that.

As the rats leave the sinking ship of the liberal party a dingy is seen off in the horizon – Dion & May doing the ‘red green show.’
